Hi, I’m Seay Stanford.

I am a 52 year old wife to a Brit, and mom of three. Two adult daughters and a 15 year old son. My shih-tzus, Jersey and Remi are my other sons :-).

I worked in corporate America, the Pharmaceutical industry & mental health for nearly 20 years. While I appreciated the structure & foundation that experince gave me, it also helped me realize what I stand for.

I stand for Freedom: in thinking, in living and in health. Freedom from products that keep people sick. Freedom from living on someone else’s agenda. Freedom of choice to not go with a narrative you may not agree with.

I've always found it challenging to adhere to norms or conform to expectations. I have a deep passion for questioning, reasoning, diverse opinions, and engaging in open discussions.

Embracing this approach often unsettles certain people.

But not MY people.

“My people” are about empowerment, autonomy & leadership.

I’m an online mentor, educator, international speaker and affiliate marketer who’s passion is to inspire others to be free thinkers, free doers, to live their own truth and become total bad ass’s. I also hold a holistic health coaching certification from the world-renowned Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

The Refined Life is about living your truth & achieving happiness in life, work, health, faith, friends & family by stripping away all the toxic crap that doesn’t matter.

Con’t from Home Page:

Following the completion of my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, I embarked on a diverse professional journey encompassing roles in business, sales, and the healthcare sector within corporate America, spanning a period of 15 years. Concurrently, I navigated the responsibilities of raising children, experienced the challenges of divorce, and subsequently embraced the journey of remarriage.

Throughout this period, I encountered pivotal moments that prompted profound self-reflection. Fueled by a desire for personal freedom and autonomy, I grew increasingly disillusioned with the constraints imposed by corporate structures, often likened to "corporate handcuffs." It was during these moments of introspection that I resolved to chart a new course and pursue self-employment, thereby reclaiming control over my professional trajectory.

Over the past 14 years, I have leveraged my corporate career expertise, along with my qualifications in psychology and health accreditations, to assist others. Through a combination of leadership accolades and the resilience cultivated from my personal challenges, I have empowered my clients to unabashedly pursue their ambitions, nurture their inner drive, and establish healthy boundaries in both personal relationships and life pursuits. This approach has resulted in significant recognition, including a feature in "First For Women" magazine, as well as engagements with audiences exceeding 8,000 individuals.

Embracing the ethos of the "Refined Life" does not demand perfection; rather, it signifies a conscious pursuit of increased tranquility, well-being, health, knowledge and contentment amidst the multifaceted responsibilities of a contemporary career professional.

Isn't it time to focus on what truly matters, emphasizing meaningful connections over fleeting pursuits, and cherishing what genuinely adds value to our lives?

about me.

Psychology.

Studying psychology came easy to me. I worked at three psychiatric hospitals in my tenure and found that most folks in there didn’t really WANT to be helped. They were Baker-acted or had to be there to earn their way back into society. I also found that treatment was more about giving sedation or numbing medications over cognitive discussions and behavior modification. Now, I prefer to use my degree to empower clients that desire to improve & succeed.

leadership.

The study of Leadership and how people rise to the role, or don’t, has always fascinated me.

Pharma Sales Rep.

GlaxoSmithKline & Alpharma. I loved this industry, until I didn’t. I learned so much about all the inner-workings of our entire healthcare system , starting with Big Pharma trickling down to pharmacies, managed care, hospitals, medical/ nursing schools and of course big government.

Nutrition Certification.

I felt it was important to attend attain this 12 month online certification, not just for the food aspect, but also from an environmental toxin education. It’s not just about what we put IN us, but also what we put ON and AROUND us.
